Acrylic glass (PMMA) is a material that has been gaining popularity in various industries for years, and acrylic glass products can be found at almost every step. What are the most important properties of acrylic glass? This material is characterized by high transparency in the light range, similar to glass, while acrylic glass is resistant to the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation, as well as acids and salts. This means that acrylic glass itself does not yellow and maintains its transparency for a very long time. Acrylic glass is a material that is very easy to process and at the same time not easy to break (it is characterized by high tensile and compressive strength). However, it is limited by high temperatures, as acrylic glass cannot be used in places where the temperature exceeds 80 degrees Celsius (while the material itself only begins to soften at temperatures above 115 degrees Celsius). Acrylic glass is also considered an environmentally friendly material and is easy to recycle.
