Polycarbonate pipes are becoming increasingly popular. Polycarbonate pipes are much more durable than Plexiglas® pipes due to their properties. They can be used wherever Plexiglas® would be damaged by high temperatures. Why? It is assumed that extruded pipes can be used at temperatures up to 70 °C and cast pipes even up to 80 °C. A polycarbonate pipe can withstand temperatures up to 120 °C. It is also many times more impact-resistant. Its impact resistance allows us to saw, cut, carve, bend, or even engrave it with a laser without any problems.
A polycarbonate pipe will also be an excellent substitute for glass. A polycarbonate pipe is not only many times lighter than glass but also 30 times more resistant, so it can be used as burglar or impact protection. Polycarbonate is also a plastic that is less brittle than Plexiglas®. Therefore, polycarbonate pipes are used wherever there is a high risk of mechanical damage. Transparent polycarbonate is completely colorless and allows over 90% of light to pass through. UV radiation does not cause yellowing, and atmospheric influences cannot harm it. Polycarbonate pipes are flame-retardant and have a high thermal insulation factor. This results in their frequent use in the construction and automotive industries as well as aerospace. There is also no restriction on forming polycarbonate into various plates with different dimensions and thicknesses. Custom orders can include a full color palette.
