Milk glass tubes are becoming an increasingly popular product. They can be made from extruded Plexiglass® or cast Plexiglass®. This depends on where the milk glass tube is used. The properties of the milk glass tube will also depend on the production technology. In the case of using extruded Plexiglass®, a milk glass tube will be cheaper but not as durable. This form of production proves itself when we need a larger number of such tubes, as extrusion better ensures product repeatability. A cast milk glass tube, on the other hand, will possess properties that allow it to be used under stricter conditions. It has a higher usage temperature and is more scratch-resistant. Unfortunately, due to the manufacturing method, which is more time-consuming and less automated, it is a more expensive product. However, if we need a durable product for outdoor use, we choose this type.
A milk glass tube and Plexiglass® in milk glass design are used in the construction sector. They are excellent as panel elements that cannot or should not be transparent. Milk glass tubes combined with Plexiglass® in milk glass design will be an excellent product that replaces glass in shower cabins or partitions for toilets. This is especially true in public facilities with a high risk of damage (e.g., sports facilities). Plexiglass® is tensile and pressure resistant. It can be safely used up to a temperature of 70–80 °C. It is unaffected by atmospheric influences such as hail and snow, as well as UV radiation harmful to humans. It does not suffer damage outdoors. Manufacturers can create any shapes and letters from Plexiglass® and easily prepare custom-sized sheets. The most common limitation is the customers' imagination.
